A note from one of our students
Hi Dr. Roberts,
Hope all is well! I just wanted to send you a quick email and say thank you! You must be wondering why I am thanking you and I am thanking you because of the SSJP paper you made our senior class write last year. In my Empirical Political Analysis class we have been assigned to do the same paper, but the professor really doesn't help at all and being that I have done that paper before but on a different topic, I know exactly what I am doing! My professor has been exceedingly impressed with my paper and because of this I am the only freshman research assistant the college has.
Thank you for always pushing me to do better!
SSJP - Peer Mediation Program
Najiya Bhura created a peer mediation program for 6th grade students for her SSJP Program. Peer mediation is both a program and a process where students of the same age group come together to resolve conflicts. For the Multimedia product, she created the following website on peer mediation that she would like to share with the school: www.peermediation-cprep.weebly.com

Lower School’s Enrichment Program will include a Garden Club in the Spring/Fall 2014. The club will offer an opportunity for students in grades 2-5 to learn to grow and harvest their own food using the school’s outdoor garden beds. We are planning on growing a number of vegetables to harvest in the spring and other vegetables that we will harvest in the fall: Garden Plan. The produce may be used in the cafeteria and packed into the weekend back-pack program for families. We will also grow some flowers that the students will use to beautify the school grounds.
VOLUNTEERS - Parents / Families - NEEDED: Contact Alice Gold. We are looking for parents who would like to volunteer to assist during Enrichment period, which is 2:45-3:45 on Mondays and Thursdays. The spring club runs from the end of April until June break. The fall program, we believe, will run from September through November.
We also are looking for parents who would like to help tend the garden. Since there are no enrichment programs during the summer months, we need people at that time to help weed, make sure the garden is watered and fall crops are planted. We could also use assistance during the spring and fall to back up the children since the club will only meet two days a week.
